We need an experienced data engineer like you to help our clients find answers in their data to impact important missions—from fraud detection to cancer research to national intelligence. As a data engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll help build advanced technology solutions and implement data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You’ll deploy and develop pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful. Here, you’ll work with and guide a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. You’ll use your experience in analytical exploration and data examination while you manage the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for your clients. You Have: 4 years of experience in a data engineering, software engineering, software devops, or adjacent role 4 years of experience designing and developing databases and applications within classified IC environments Experience creating custom SQL solutions, including scripts, stored procedures, optimized queries, and user-facing interfaces tailored for secure IC networks Experience building and maintaining integrations between data sources and analytic tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Kibana, and Grafana Experience in programming languages, such as Python, developing tools, scripts, or automations to support data ingestion, transformation, and operational workflows, and UNIX or Linux, including basic commands and Shell scripting Experience using large-scale dataflow and transformation technologies, such as Hadoop, EMR, Snowflake, and Apache NiFi, to build production-ready datasets for analytic use Knowledge of IC cloud platforms and services, such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Ability to document and communicate database designs, such as ER diagrams, schema definitions, and system architecture, to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Business Information Systems Nice If You Have: Experience in developing and presenting IC-focused metrics, including assessments of how IC reporting maps to intelligence requirements, how effectively the IC responds to shifting priorities, and how various producing groups contribute to mission needs Experience in architecting, validating, and maintaining software tools that enable assessment workflows and metrics generation across large, integrated datasets Experience designing and implementing secure APIs that provide controlled, authenticated access to enterprise data repositories Experience leading technical teams Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required. Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
