Shift available: Monday- Friday 7am- 3pm About the Position: Data
Center Technician, Mechanical is responsible for the daily
operations and maintenance of the Data Center Campus. This position
will operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to irregular
conditions of the day-to-day operations. Perform routine and
ongoing evaluation of the mechanical/electrical equipment, building
management systems, fire protection system, access control,
security, building, and the grounds around the facility.
Responsibilities range from receiving material, installation of
equipment, low-voltage cabling, fiber cross-connects, remote hands
requests, monitoring critical systems, managing vendor maintenance
of all critical infrastructure equipment, performing monthly
preventative maintenance on various facility items, and janitorial
duties. Project installation and management, testing and
troubleshooting of Telecommunication infrastructure components
including, but not limited to Cameras, Access Control, Access
Points, Ladder rack, Fiber Guide, MDF, IDF, switches, routers, and
related cabling. What you do daily: Perform facility walkthroughs,
recording readings of electrical/mechanical equipment and
maintaining the related reports. Monitor, operate, maintain, and
respond to irregular events associated with the facility,
including, but not limited to mechanical, electrical, network,
security, and building controls Lead the troubleshooting process
and repairs in the event of equipment failure and providing
recommendations to prevent re-occurrences Perform preventative
maintenance items including, but not limited to generator runs,
filter replacements, battery readings, elevator tests, sprinkler
room inspections, loading dock levelers, and security gates Assist
vendors with maintenance and repairs to the mechanical system,
generators, fire detection/suppression, security, and building
management systems Inspect the facility lighting systems, grounds,
and equipment to ensure safe conditions. Identify hazards that may
need remedied and initiate corrective action Create and/or update
cases in a timely manner within the ticketing system for internal
requests or those initiated by customers. These cases could be
service orders, remote hands, access requests, shipping/receiving,
network, maintenance, or repair related Monitor and respond to
security, environmental, and BMS/EPMS equipment monitoring systems
in a timely manner. Manage and maintain detailed site documentation
for inventory, intra-building fiber connectivity, cross connects,
network connections, access points, cameras, access control,
VESDAs, fire extinguishers, elevators, utility readings, and waste
tracking Assist co-workers, vendors, and customers with other tasks
as needed Receive and track incoming packages to the loading docks.
Relocate packages or pallets within the building with pallet jacks
and carts Accountable for maintaining security procedures,
assisting with SOC Audit reporting, occasionally staffing of the
security office, working access request cases, escorting
vendors/customers to and from secure areas. Assist with the overall
cleanliness of the facility and campus Position will involve
frequent walking, standing, climbing stairs, bending, pushing,
reaching, lifting, and occasional use of hand trucks, ladders, and
manual/electric lifts What makes you a good fit: (Qualifications)
High School Diploma or Equivalent Strong written, verbal, and
inter-personal skills 2 or more years of work experience in a data
center environment or equivalent Certifications - BICSI / DCCA /
AMP ACT I & ACT II Certified Computer skills and experience with
Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Visio, etc. Functional knowledge of
networking, low-voltage cabling, access control, security, and
critical infrastructure (Generators, HVAC, RTU, DOAS, Chillers,
High-Voltage Electrical Systems, UPS, Fire System, etc.) found in
Mission Critical Facilities. Capable of working with hand tools,
digital multi-meters, cable testers, and OTDR. Ability to write a
Method of Procedure (MOP) for Preventative Maintenance,
installation, and repair activities. Strong knowledge of NFPA Fire
and Life Safety Comfortable working in a fast-paced 24/7
environment with flexibility to work various shifts, after-hours,
weekends when needed and available for on-call support. Autonomous
