As a Software Asset Manager - You will:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Software
Asset Manager to oversee software license tracking, entitlement
management, and compliance across enterprise environments in
support of one of our clients. This position will work on-site in
the Washington, D.C. area and is critical to maintaining an
efficient, cost-effective, and compliant software asset management
(SAM) program. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of
ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM Pro), experience managing
entitlements, and strong documentation skills for developing SOPs
and maintaining a knowledge base.
This role requires proactive collaboration with procurement, IT,
legal, and vendor management teams to ensure software licensing is
optimized and all assets are properly tracked and documented.
Responsibilities:
--- Manage the complete lifecycle of software assets, including
acquisition, deployment, maintenance, renewals, and
decommissioning.
--- Track and manage software license entitlements, usage, and
compliance using ServiceNow SAM Pro.
--- Maintain and regularly update an approved software repository
to ensure organizational standards and software hygiene.
--- Ensure all software assets and entitlements are accurately
recorded and continuously reconciled across systems.
--- Author and maintain clear, detailed Standard Operating
Procedures (SOPs) and contribute to a robust knowledge base to
support internal software asset management processes.
--- Support software license audits and ensure alignment with
vendor agreements and organizational policies.
--- Collaborate with procurement, legal, security, IT operations,
and business stakeholders to align licensing strategies, resolve
issues, and support planning for renewals or new acquisitions.
--- Analyze license usage trends to identify cost-saving
opportunities such as reclamation or consolidation.
--- Generate reports and dashboards within ServiceNow to support
internal audits, compliance checks, and executive briefings.
--- Support software deployment teams with license validation,
version tracking, and distribution governance.
--- Train stakeholders and end users on software asset management
policies and ServiceNow processes.

to effectively document, report, and explain licensing concepts to
diverse audiences.

ability to identify discrepancies and resolve data quality
issues.
--- Process-Oriented: Skilled in developing, documenting, and
refining repeatable asset management processes.
--- Analytical: Able to assess usage data and licensing terms to
make informed recommendations.
--- Independent & Proactive: Capable of managing day-to-day
responsibilities without supervision while seeking out improvements
to SAM workflows.
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience:
--- 3 to 5 years of experience in Software Asset Management,
Software Licensing, or IT Asset Management with a software
focus.
--- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro,
including license models, entitlements, and reconciliation
processes.
--- Strong understanding of various software licensing models
(perpetual, subscription, SaaS, enterprise agreements, etc.).
--- Experience maintaining software catalogs, license entitlement
records, and compliance documentation.
--- Experience creating and maintaining SOPs and internal knowledge
documentation.
--- Familiarity with federal procurement and IT governance
practices is preferred.
--- Experience with ITIL-based processes for asset and
configuration management is a plus.
Tools & Technologies:
--- Advanced knowledge of ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM
Pro).
--- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including functions for license
reconciliation and reporting.
--- Familiarity with software discovery tools and license tracking
utilities.
--- Experience with tools related to contract/license management is
a plus.
Additional Qualifications:
--- Active Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain one.
--- Ability to work on-site full-time in the Washington, D.C.
area.
--- No travel required (0%).
--- Strong organizational skills and commitment to accuracy and
compliance.
This is a Full Time, Contract opportunity.
Location : Washington, DC (Onsite)
Job Type: W-2 Contract
Duration : 6+ Month (Possible Extension)
Pay Rate : $26-$31/hr on w2
Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on
several factors, including the candidate's education, work
experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications,
etc.
