Job Description:
We are looking for a Staff / Principal Engineer, Cross-Domain
Solutions (CDS) to serve as a deeply impactful technical expert and
technical program manager within the Connected Warfare Division.
The Connected Warfare Division builds systems to support global
command and control missions. We create joint, time sensitive,
multi domain, ubiquitous, connected mesh ecosystems. Our ecosystem
enables connected warfare with disproportional impact by connecting
every robot, human, and sensor in every domain, bringing together
hundreds of thousands of end points across the globe. We are the
substrate that provides the source of truth for time sensitive
decision, effectively transforming the way that militaries close
kills chains and enable mission autonomy. As a Staff/Principal
Engineer, you will tackle the most complex technical challenges
related to Cross-Domain Solutions, designing robust systems that
involve cutting-edge networking, systems integration, software
architecture, and security. You will make pragmatic technical
tradeoffs, balancing advanced capabilities with the immediate needs
of critical missions. You will be instrumental in designing and
guiding greenfield development for strategic projects and will
deeply influence technical strategy, collaborating directly with
customers and partners to design and deliver secure, high-impact
solutions. Your role will be critical in shaping the technical
design and delivery of components within Anduril programs,
specifically enabling the Lattice Mesh through expertise in
distributed edge compute and networking scenarios that demand deep
technical and operational insight. WHAT YOU’LL DO Drive the
technical design and implementation of CDS products and solutions
to meet stringent accreditation requirements and ensure compliance
with relevant policies. Lead technical deep dives to identify and
define complex problems, translating them into clear technical
requirements, system specifications, and robust implementation
plans. Design, develop, and deliver highly scalable, maintainable,
and secure CDS systems that reduce operational complexity and
enable future growth. Deeply collaborate with engineering teams
across the organization to plan, design, develop, and test complex,
cross-functional capabilities. Collaborate with technology partners
to deliver interoperable components for the system architecture in
a timely manner. Champion rigorous engineering best practices,
driving high standards for reliability, security, and
maintainability in all CDS development. Mentor junior and mid-level
engineers, elevating the overall technical capabilities of the team
through knowledge sharing and hands-on guidance. CORE REQUIREMENTS
Active DoD TS Security Clearance required Experience (15 years)
with design, delivery, and operations of complex IT systems.
Experience (4 years) with CDS design, delivery, and operations.
Direct knowledge and familiarity with NSA Raise the Bar (RTB)
standards, accreditation processes, and past experience working
with the National Cross Domain Strategy and Management Office
(NCDSMO). Broad knowledge of network security engineering,
assessment, and operational requirements specific to government
defense systems and air-gapped environments such as SIPR and JWICS.
Deep knowledge of applicable government policies, regulations,
accreditation / authorities processes, and establishing &
maintaining compliance. Direct technical experience with concepts
and approaches for things like high-assurance security, low-latency
networking, and multi-enclave architectures. Exceptional
engineering background from industry or school, ideally in
areas/fields such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering,
Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics. Proven ability to
quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established
code bases, contributing effectively from day one. Demonstrated
ability to design and deliver complex, high-assurance software
systems from concept to deployment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience building distributed systems that operate in
disconnected scenarios. Strong understanding of product management
principles and how to translate product vision into technical
execution. Ability to demonstrate capabilities and communicate
across a wide range of technical and executive leadership levels,
influencing and driving understanding. Experience leveraging
modeling and simulation environments for distributed systems
operating in non-standard networking conditions. Familiarity with
modern build and deployment tooling (e.g., NixOS, Terraform).
Familiarity with industry standard cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and
software infrastructure fundamentals (networking, security,
distributed systems). Professional software development lifecycle
experience using tools such as version control, CI/CD systems, etc.
Familiarity with industry standard monitoring, logging, and data
management tools and best practices. Track record of mentoring and
elevating the technical capabilities of other engineers. Experience
managing 3rd party vendor relationships. Experience procuring
components necessary to build distributed systems. Published
technical papers, presented at conferences, or contributed to
