Job Description Job Description AST SpaceMobile is building the
first and only global cellular broadband network in space to
operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on
our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both
commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space
scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps
faced by today's five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring
broadband to the billions who remain unconnected. As an Electrical
and Power System Engineer, you will have the unique opportunity to
contribute to the development of our next generation of satellites
which will be even larger, more powerful, and more advanced than
their predecessors. You will be part of a cross-functional team of
talented engineers that owns the full development and operations
cycle of the satellite electrical and power systems. The
responsibilities of the team span a wide range of activities from
requirements specification and architecture development up to post
launch data reviews and anomaly investigations. Duties and
Responsibilities: Develop and maintain unit- and subsystem-level
technical requirements. Lead trade studies, architecture
development, and interface definition at the unit and subsystem
level. Support detailed design activities, including creation and
review of schematics, layouts, drawings, and bills of materials.
Perform electrical and power analyses including power integrity
(PI), transient analysis, worst-case circuit, derating, voltage
drop, and grounding analyses. Perform DC, AC, and transient power
integrity analysis (IR drop, impedance targets, load steps,
resonances). Optimize decoupling strategies (bulk, ceramic,
embedded capacitance) across frequency domains. Define and execute
PDN validation plans (impedance measurement, load-step testing,
noise analysis) Plan and lead unit- and subsystem-level acceptance
and qualification testing, including test plan development, EGSE
definition, test execution oversight, and test report generation.
Lead failure investigations and support root-cause analysis during
testing and operations. Conduct on-orbit data reviews and support
anomaly investigation and resolution. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with strong academic
performance. Familiarity with electrical power system components
such as batteries, solar panels, harness, and power control and
distribution units. Legally authorized to work in the US without
employer sponsorship Excellent communication abilities, both
written and verbal. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with satellite power systems and space mission
requirements. Familiarity with PDN simulation tools as Keysight
PIPro, Cadence Sigrity, Ansys SIwave, SPICE 2 years of experience
leading a team or technical project. Preferred Skills and
Experience 3-7 years of experience in power systems design and
development, with a focus on space or aerospace applications
preferred. Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, with
emphasis on Power Electronics. Experience with LEO satellite power
systems or similar space missions. This job description may not be
