Job Description Job Title: Electrical Field Test Technician (NETA III/IV or NICET Equivalent) Location: Lanham, MD Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire Pay Range: $54.00 - $60.00 Hourly \n \n The pay listed is the salary range for this position. If you’re a NETA Level III or IV Technician or hold NICET certification (or equivalent experience), this is your opportunity to work with a leading NETA-accredited organization that values expertise, leadership, and career advancement. \n As an Electrical Field Test Technician, you'll take charge of testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning power systems from low to high voltage. You’ll also guide and mentor junior team members while working on complex, mission-critical projects in the field. \n \n \n \n What You’ll Do \n \n Travel to client sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot , and start-up electrical systems \n Lead and mentor Level I and II Trainees and Assistants in technical tasks and field operations \n Assign work, review performance, and ensure consistent execution of testing procedures \n Conduct acceptance and maintenance testing for switchgear, relays, transformers, cables, and motor control centers \n Test and calibrate solid-state and electromechanical relays (including SEL 700G or comparable) \n Operate tools and software such as Enoserv RTS , Megger , and Omicron testing equipment \n Analyze test data, perform insulated fluid sampling , and interpret electrical performance issues \n Complete Job Hazard Analyses, including arc flash and shock hazard assessments \n Document all results in detailed field service reports \n Rotate on-call duties for emergency response and service \n Assist the sales team by providing technical expertise and recommendations \n Ensure compliance with NETA , NFPA70E , and ABM safety and quality standards \n \n \n \n \n What We’re Looking For \n Minimum Requirements: \n \n 5 years of experience in electrical testing and power system services \n Current NETA Level III or IV , or NICET equivalent certification \n Proven experience leading and mentoring technicians in the field \n Ability to manage multi-month, medium to large-scale projects \n Familiarity with NETA ATS/MTS Standards and NFPA70E \n Proficient in lockout/tagout and hazardous energy control procedures \n Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills \n Clean driving record and ability to travel nationally (up to 90%) \n \n Preferred Qualifications: \n \n Associate’s degree or higher in Power Systems or related field \n Skilled in troubleshooting electrical faults, especially ground faults \n Familiarity with generator controls , protection systems , and high-voltage substations \n \n \n \n \n Benefit Information: \n ABM offers a comprehensive benefits package.
